Fair Trade® rests on ten pivotal principles carried out by Fair Trees®.

1. To open up new opportunities for less fortunate growers.
   Fair Trees contributes to economic development in Ambrolauri-Tlugi, where the seeds are collected.
2. Transparency and responsibility.
   Fair Trees has entered into transparent agreements with its Georgian partners.
   
3. Trading practices.
   Fair Trees contributes to the social and economic welfare of the Georgian cone pickers. At the same time, suppliers to Fair Trees commit themselves to respect agreements and deliver the goods on time in accordance with all other specifications, such as quality, that have been agreed upon.
4. Paying a fair price.
   Fair Trees guarantees that the Georgian cone pickers are paid a set and fair salary for the work they perform.
5. Child labour and forced labour.
   Fair Trees guarantees that no child labour or forced labour is used.
6. Antidiscrimination, equality and freedom of association.
   Fair Trees supports the development of the Georgian cone pickers’ rights as well as free collective bargaining and free negotiations on agreements.
7. Working conditions.
   Fair Trees creates the best possible working conditions by providing safety equipment, safety courses and labour insurance
8. Creating capacity.
   Fair Trees contributes by providing educational grants aimed at developing skills in Ambrolauri-Tlugi.
9. The promotion of Fair Trade.
   Fair Trees aims to draw attention to the Fair Trade concept and its workability as a way to promote increased fairness in cross-border trade.
10. Environment.
    Fair Trees is based on production of both cones and Christmas trees that have the least possible adverse impact on the environment.
